The Borderline Series: Button Stool features sculptural lines and flowing joints feature prominently in this design from Kenton Jeske.
The work is hand shaped and constructed with traditional mortise and tenon joinery hand fit for strength and precision.

All work is handcrafted with signature, number and date cataloging.

The Borderline Series features a unique design aesthetic creating a boundary line between the finely finished hardwood surface and the milk painted edges. This boundary line is a stepped ridge routed into the wood surface to create a border between the pieces natural and painted surfaces. This detail requires technical expertise to seamlessly blend joints prior to assembly rather than post assembly, which is more common in sculpted joinery. It also features a hand carved seat shaped with traditional hand tools.

Painted works are brushed using Milk paint. Milk paint is a powder base paint that is hand mixed to a consistency that facilitates a particular look I am after. Pictured images are hard to capture the characteristics of the final look which has light fissures and depending on the wood species used allows grain patterns to show through while remaining opaque.
